Annual Appeal
Blue Heron, widely recognized as North America’s finest early music vocal ensemble, owes its success to a combination of Scott Metcalfe’s visionary leadership, the brilliance of its stellar musicians, and the enthusiastic support of you, members of the Blue Heron family. Quite simply, Blue Heron’s success as an internationally acclaimed, award-winning leader in early music would be impossible without your generosity, for which we offer our sincere gratitude.
Your support has enabled Blue Heron to win rave reviews such as these:
At once cerebral, sensitive, and sensual … At 600 years young and vivid as ever, Ockeghem has found in Blue Heron a worthy interpreter and advocate.
The Boston Musical Intelligencer
… a model of deep but impeccably poised expression … rare grace, serenity, and style …
The Boston Globe
Under Metcalfe, the ensemble delivers musical rhetoric of immense beauty.
Early Music
Fresh off the release of our recent CD, Guillaume de Machaut: Remede de Fortune (in collaboration with Les Délices), we are now currently working on the much-anticipated Johannes Ockeghem: Volume 2 CD for release in the fall of 2023. And in addition to producing the highest quality programming you expect, we also look forward to:
- Planning stages for celebrations in honor of our 25th Anniversary;
- Engaging our community through workshops and symposia; and,
- Exploring avenues and resources for virtual access to concerts.
Your support is central to our mission. As you consider your charitable year-end giving, please contribute to the Blue Heron Annual Fund as generously as you are able. If you are retired and taking Required Minimum Distributions you may want to consider that as a source for donations to Blue Heron – please contact us for details.
You have our most sincere thanks!
