LESSONS FROM NIGHTINGALES: SONGS OF SUFI MYSTERIES features world premiere recordings of two pieces by Sanlıkol: the a cappella work Devran (2017) and The Triumph, for vocal ensemble and Turkish instruments (played by members of DÜNYA), composed for Blue Heron’s 25th birthday in 2024.
Lessons from Nightingales: Songs of Sufi Mysteries will be released in August on the Blue Heron label. We just need to raise a few more thousand dollars to put it over the finish line.
