Music from the Peterhouse Partbooks
Richard Pygott, Missa Veni sancte spiritus & other works

Saturday, February 3 • 8 PM

First Church in Cambridge, Congregational
11 Garden Street (Next to the Sheraton Commander)

Blue Heron has released five CDs of the Peterhouse repertoire, copied c. 1540 for Canterbury Cathedral, a project called “one of the most important early choral projects of our time” (Early Music Review (UK)). But there is much more wonderful music to explore in this large collection. Don’t miss this season’s program, featuring our premiere performance of the splendid Missa Veni sancte spiritus by Richard Pygott, whose amazing Salve regina appears on vol. 2 of the 5-CD set. View a video about the Peterhouse recording project.
This concert will also be offered in Providence on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 4 PM.

Doors and box office open at 7 PM / Pre-concert talk by Scott Metcalfe at 7:15 PM
